Amazona makes only one appearances, in Fiction House's Planet Comics #3 (March 1940).
She's part of a lost race and endowed with great strength. She leaves her people for love of a man and tries to make her way in the mainstream world. She soons find herself battling the criminal element. Sound familiar?
No cheap knockoff, Amazona predates DC's Wonder Woman -- who's fared somewhat better -- by nearly two years.
The final panel promises "another startling adventure of Amazona in the next issue," but such is not to be. Nor is Amazona among the many Golden Age characters enjoying a modern day revival...yet.
